The outage affected both the Spotify website and app. Around half of the reported problems were connected to the website.

The issue began shortly after 11 a.m. EST. At the time, there was no confirmed information about exactly when the service would return to normal.

If Spotify shows a “Something went wrong” message, users can try restarting the app, checking their internet connection or waiting for the service to recover.

Overwatch players also experienced server problems on August 2. Outage reports showed nearly 4,000 reports during the afternoon.

The biggest problem was connecting to the game server, accounting for more than 60% of reported issues. Some players also said they could not launch or play the game.

Spotify had another reported outage on August 3, but this one was short-lived. More than 400 reports were recorded during the afternoon, and Spotify was also trending in online searches.

The problem started shortly after 1:30 p.m. EST and lasted less than 30 minutes. Many of the reported issues involved the app.

Spotify later returned to normal, and users were advised to try the service again.

Final Thoughts

The recent outages show how even major online platforms can experience unexpected technical problems. Discord, Spotify and Overwatch all faced service issues within a few days, affecting users in different ways.

If a popular app suddenly stops working, it does not always mean there is a problem with your device or internet connection. Checking the service status and waiting for an official fix can often be the simplest solution.
