Sony has confirmed something exciting for PlayStation fans.

The first presentation will take place on Thursday, September 3, and will include updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party developers. The event will also feature an extended look at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, making it one of the biggest highlights for RPG fans.

When Is the PlayStation State of Play?

The first PlayStation State of Play will begin at 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET / 3:00 PM CEST / 10:00 PM JST.

Sony has not yet confirmed how long the presentation will last. However, fans will not have to wait between the two shows. The second presentation will begin immediately after the first one ends.

This second event will be a special State of Play Japan presentation. It will focus on upcoming games from studios in Japan and other parts of Asia. The show will include new gameplay, announcements and deeper looks at upcoming titles.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Gets More Attention

One of the biggest announcements is an extended look at Final Fantasy 7 Revelation from Square Enix. Fans have been waiting for more information about the game, so this presentation could provide a better idea of what to expect.

The extra gameplay footage could also become one of the main talking points after the event.

Fans Are Waiting for Intergalactic

Another game that could appear is Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The game was revealed nearly two years ago, but very little information has been shared since then.

Its absence from Sony’s June presentation disappointed some PlayStation fans. Because of that, many players are now hoping the September event finally brings new footage or an update.

Marvel’s Wolverine Could Also Make an Appearance

Insomniac Games’ Marvel’s Wolverine is another major title fans have on their wish list. The game is scheduled to release on PS5 on September 15, making this State of Play a perfect opportunity to show more gameplay before launch.

Physical Games Could Become a Hot Topic

Beyond game announcements, physical game support may also become part of the discussion. PlayStation fans have continued to criticize Sony’s reported plan to end physical disc support in January 2028.

As a result, social media discussions around the State of Play could once again focus on the future of physical PlayStation games.

What to Expect From Sony

With two presentations happening back-to-back, September 3 could be a major day for PlayStation fans. Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is confirmed to receive an extended look, while games such as Intergalactic and Marvel’s Wolverine remain highly anticipated possibilities.

For now, the biggest question is simple: what surprise will Sony reveal during the PlayStation State of Play?
