Apple has entered the foldable smartphone market with the new iPhone Duo, introducing a completely new design while keeping the familiar iPhone experience. The iPhone Duo features two Super Retina XDR displays. The inner screen measures 7.6 inches, making it 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The outer display measures 5.4 inches and provides 90% of the screen area found on the iPhone 18 Pro.
Both displays use the same aspect ratio, helping content look consistent when moving between the folded and unfolded modes. ProMotion, Always-On display technology, and up to 3,000 nits of outdoor brightness are also included.

Built for Durability
Apple says the iPhone Duo foldable iPhone is designed for everyday use. Its frame is made from grade 5 titanium with a polished finish. Ceramic Shield protects the back, while Ceramic Shield 2 is used on the outer display and offers three times better scratch resistance than the previous generation.
The precision hinge contains more than 100 components and is designed to provide smooth opening and closing. Apple has also used multiple layers and custom adhesives beneath the folding display to help reduce stress during repeated folding.
The phone carries an IP68 rating for splash, water, and dust resistance.
Powerful Cameras and A20 Pro Performance
Photography is another major part of the iPhone Duo experience. It features a 48MP Fusion Main camera with optical-quality 2x Telephoto capabilities and improved low-light performance.
A 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera adds macro photography and wider shots. The new Center Stage front camera can automatically adjust for different orientations, making selfies and video calls easier.
Under the hood, the A20 Pro chip works with a custom vapor chamber and dual-battery system to deliver strong performance and all-day battery life.
iOS 27 and AI Features
The software has also been redesigned around the foldable form. iOS 27 allows users to work with two apps side by side, making the larger display more useful for productivity.
Apple Intelligence and Siri AI add further smart features, while Siri Camera mode can understand what the camera is seeing and help users take action.
The iPhone Duo will be available in Star White and Night Sky. Pre-orders begin October 16, with availability starting October 23.
