The world of PlayStation 5 emulation has taken another interesting step. The PS5 emulator KyTyPS5 has reportedly managed to boot Marvel’s Wolverine and reach its main menu on a PC.
The result is impressive from an emulation point of view, but there is an important catch. The game was reportedly running at around 2 FPS, and there was no gameplay shown. So, this is still far from being a playable PC version of the game.
Marvel’s Wolverine only launched on PlayStation 5 on September 15, making this early emulation result particularly notable.
KyTyPS5 Reaches Marvel’s Wolverine Menu
A short video shared by Jose Coixao showed KyTyPS5 running Marvel’s Wolverine on a powerful PC. The system used a GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card along with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor.
The emulator managed to get the game to its main menu. However, performance was extremely low, with reports suggesting around 2 frames per second.
That means players should not expect to sit down and play Marvel’s Wolverine through KyTyPS5 anytime soon. Reaching a menu is only one step in the much larger challenge of running a complete game correctly.
PS5 Emulation Is Moving Forward
KyTyPS5 has already shown progress with other demanding PlayStation games.
Earlier developments included GTA 5 reaching its menus, while Quake II reportedly ran at around 7 FPS with various glitches. Later footage showed GTA 5 running through the North Yankton prologue.
Demon’s Souls Remake has also shown major improvements in reported performance.

These results show how quickly PS5 emulation projects can develop. However, performance can vary heavily depending on the emulator version, hardware and game.
RTX 5090 Is Still Far From a Normal PC
There is another important point to remember. The hardware used for these tests is extremely powerful. An RTX 5090 is not something found inside the average gaming PC.
KyTyPS5 also still has compatibility problems with other games. For example, the base emulator has reportedly struggled with Silent Hill 2 Remake, while another KytyPlus fork has managed to boot it.
For now, the PS5 emulator KyTyPS5 reaching the Marvel’s Wolverine menu is best viewed as an early technical milestone rather than a playable PC experience. The next big challenge will be getting the game into actual gameplay with stable performance.
