Azeroth is opening its doors once again with World of Warcraft: Forever, a new permanent home for players who want to experience the classic world in a fresh way. Blizzard Entertainment has designed the game to sit alongside modern and Classic WoW, giving old and new players another way to explore the world they know.
A Reimagined Classic Azeroth
World of Warcraft: Forever takes place after the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. Players will return to the original continents and progress up to level 60. However, this is not simply a repeat of the old journey.
The new experience is built around exploration, community, and discovering places that may have felt mysterious in the original game. Blizzard says the game will continue to grow with new stories, experiences, and updates based on player feedback.
The beta begins on September 17, 2026, giving selected players an early chance to explore the new version of Azeroth. The full global launch is scheduled for November 4, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. PDT.
New Skyborne Race and More Content

One of the major additions is the new playable Skyborne race, which comes with its own starting experience on Zephras Isle. Players can also look forward to new regions, dungeons, raids, housing features, cosmetics, and other systems.
Access to the base game will be included with a World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time. Players who want additional items or early access can choose from several optional upgrade editions.
| Edition | Main Features | Beta Access |
|---|---|---|
| Skyborne Heroic Pack | Skyborne race, Zephras Isle, mount, cosmetics, housing items | No |
| Skyborne Epic Pack | Heroic features, extra cosmetics, pets, Game Time, launch codes | Yes |
| Warcraft Forever Collection | Epic features plus Warcraft III content and extra housing items | Yes |
A Journey Designed to Keep Growing

The biggest idea behind World of Warcraft: Forever is that the journey itself matters. Familiar roads, forgotten areas, hidden locations, and unexplored corners of Azeroth can become the starting points for new adventures.
Blizzard has also revealed plans for future regions, dungeons, raids, and stories. This gives Forever a long-term direction instead of making it a one-time trip back to the past.
For collectors, a physical Collector’s Edition will also be available through the Blizzard Gear Store while supplies last.
With its mix of familiar locations and new content, World of Warcraft: Forever aims to create a different version of Azeroth where exploration and community remain at the heart of the experience. The journey begins with the beta and continues when the game officially launches on November 4.
